TAXI! 2005

Taxi! consists of a range of 10 photographs taken and printed by the artist as a project in her 2nd year of study at the University of the Witwatersrand.

The aim of the project was to explore the sub culture particular to taxi drivers in the City of Johannesburg. This culture finds its articulation prominently in iconography realized in various forms ranging from slogans to visual presentations adorning the vehicles.
